YOUTH RED CROSS SOCIETY (YRC)

About


    The YRC is the most important constituent of its mother organization, Indian Red Cross. It is a student movement organized for students in Colleges and Technical Institutions. YRC in AGM College of Education was established in the academic year 2005-06 as per the orders of the Government of Tamil Nadu.


The main purpose of organizing the Youth Red Cross is


To inculcate in the Youth of our country
An awareness on the care of their own health and that of others
The understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern, to fulfill the same
To enable the growth and development of a spirit of service and sense of duty with dedication and devotion in the minds of youth
To foster better friendly relationship with all without any discrimination.

To develop the mental and moral capacities of the youth

YRC activities


YRC activities develop leadership qualities and the spirit of service and promote unity and a sense of sacrifice among our Teacher Trainees. Our YRC Unit adheres to and follows the principles of Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Services, Unity and Universality. Some of the activities of our YRC volunteers are: donating blood, rendering voluntary services during the conduct of Polio drops campaigns and diabetic detection camps, creating awareness of HIV/AIDS, visiting orphanages and old-age homes, tree-planting and distributing pamphlets to create Road Safety awareness.
